Creative Chemistry, LLC was founded in July 2007 by David V. Partyka, Ph.D. Dr. Partyka (view Dr. Partyka's public LinkedIn profile)  obtained his doctoral degree from Harvard University in September 2005 under the experienced leadership of Prof. Richard H. Holm (to learn about the outstanding chemical research that is done in the Holm Group, please click here). Dr. Partyka's thesis focused on the development of rhenium-, molybdenum- and tungsten-sulfur bond-forming reactions from readily-available metal oxide precursors. In particular, new methodology for the transformation of terminal metal-oxo bonds into terminal metal-sulfido bonds or metal-dithiolene chelates was developed.
Dr. Partyka later went to Case Western Reserve University as a postdoctoral associate, where for 18 months he developed two previously unknown gold-carbon bond forming reactions in association with mentor Prof. Thomas G. Gray. In addition, he assisted in the development of the metal-coordination chemistry of
tetraarylazadipyrromethenes, a photoactive class of ligands which is garnering increasing attention. Dr. Partyka's work has been published in several peer-reviewed chemical journals.
